Thousands of people claiming legacy benefits will need to take action before the autumn or risk losing out on their benefits. The Department for Work and Pensions has warned people not to ignore a migration letter if they receive one.
But the DWP has warned that this migration is NOT automatic and you must take action before the stated deadline. If for some reason your payments go down, you will get a top up. But you'll only get this if you apply for Universal Credit by the deadline.
