The Reds were first linked with the 21-year-old two years ago. However, they were not the only ones keen at the time and the youngster opted to join AC Milan on loan.
It is Crystal Palace, though, who are seemingly in pole position to potentially snap him up. They are said to be the only club “to progress in discussions” as it stands. Explaining his decision to join Milan, the midfielder said at the time: "Things did not go as expected in Wolfsburg. The new coach told me that at the moment he saw better other players and that they would have priority, but also said that he considered me a good player and all these things, but that he could not give me the minutes I wanted.
