The latest Liverpool transfer news as Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeneß addresses interest in Liverpool-linked playmaker Florian Wirtz

Liverpool's shrewd stance of waiting to do business lowers the risk of wasting millions on transfers, but at the same time they risk missing out on a number of stand-out players. The latest that could be snatched away is Bayer Leverkusen's Florian Wirtz. The 21-year-old recently broke into the German national team ahead of EURO 2024, and that was down to star performances at club level.

Speaking at local Bavarian amateur side Seligenporten on Sunday, Bayern president Uli Hoeneß was prompted for his thoughts on the sought-after playmaker. Via Abendzeitung's Maximilian Koch , he responded: 'Everyone knows that I would love to see him at Bayern Munich.' As it seems Wirtz's saga will only be settled in the summer of 2025, that stands to benefit Bayern.
