Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) says Navient, a leading student loan servicer, owes the federal government $22.3 million

Warren, a 2020 presidential candidate, wants U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos to collect the money from Navient, which Warren said overcharged the Education Department. In ato DeVos, Warren said that Navient is “fleecing taxpayers” and “it is time for [DeVos] to hold Navient accountable.”

Warren says that rather than repay the money, Navient has appealed the decision and delayed for six years.
