The ringgit rebounded from Thursday's losses to trade slightly higher against the US dollar early on Friday.

AmBank Research said the ringgit was expected to trade between its support levels of 4.0642 and 4.0765 while its resistance is pinned at 4.1023 and 4.1141.

At 9.20 am, the ringgit was quoted at 4.0825/0855 against the US dollar compared with 4.0870/0910 recorded at yesterday's close. Bernama reported the ringgit, however, weakened against the euro to 4.5034/5071 from 4.5026/5083, and slipped against the British pound to 5.3481/3536 from 5.3192/3257 yesterday.

It said the World Health Organisation declared overnight that the new coronavirus outbreak was a global health emergency, acknowledging that the disease represents a risk outside of China, where it emerged last month.
