Paying with a credit card can help protect you against Coronavirus holiday and flight cancellations COVID19

In the first instance if your holiday or flight is cancelled due to coronavirus then it's up to your airline or holiday firm to refund you or offer alternative travel.

But if your airline or holiday firm won't pay out then we explain how a credit card could help you get a refund. If you pay for your flight or hotel with a credit card, and the total amount comes to more than £100 and your flight or holiday is cancelled due to coronavirus, you may be able to claim money back underThis is because when you pay by credit card, your provider is partly responsible if you don't get the service you paid for.

So if the retailer you're buying from goes bust or your goods aren't delivered or the items are faulty, you have the legal right to go to your card provider to get your cash back. It's worth noting that if you paid for your flights and hotel separately, each one would need to come to more than £100.
