The drama which played out on the floor of the Senate on Thursday, was a confirmation of an uneasy calm among senators in the federal parliament, investigations byThe red chamber had on Thursday, in c

ontroversial circumstances, considered and approved the report of its committee on local and foreign loans which worked on the request by the regime of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari to borrow $22.796bn.among members of the red chamber showed that many of the senators had been complaining about the alleged ‘rubber stamp’ nature of the chamber which the leadership remained resolute to maintain and sustain.

that the insistence by the Senate President that the Senate under his watch would always approve any request from the Presidency was generating cold war among his colleagues. “It is true that many senators are currently not comfortable with the situation and that is why the Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe, was talking about the suppression of minority voices which the Senate President denied on Thursday.”

He had said, “Now we want to make our input, we are being told it is either we pass or not and I think that is not very good for the economy of this country. You are putting us in a very impossible situation because you are telling us to pass even those things that you don’t approve of. He also dismissed the decision of the Minority Leader to leave the chamber in anger, describing it as no big deal.

“Abaribe might have left the chamber to attend a committee meeting and decided to delegate his powers to his deputy.”

Posterity is not even judging yet. The present has judge them already. What a shame. Rubber? Rubber!!!!!!.

9th Assembly everything goes approved two load in less than six months rubber stamp

To me rubber stamp was a dignified name. What they are is just unprintable.

Don't just call anyone bad name, many of you are yet to be tested in that position to proof differently

Rubber lawal

The name of the cap he is wearing is called rubber stamp.. Everything about them is rubber stamp..

Count it all joy and wear the most prestigious medal of Honor; Rubber Stamp Senate. Worst in our nation's history!

You mean the rubberstamp nassnigeria NGRSenate . they can keep licking bubu anus until they get to his rectum...

A bunch of greedy unpatriotic compatriots...

nassnigeria DrAhmadLawan femigbaja what a shame.

Then what are they?

They are the problem of this country, criminals in high places.

Hmmm more borrowing not bad but not using for the purpose is another matter. A day will come, when I get there, all of you whether dead or alive, and your generation will pay for this loan if not properly use for its purpose. You will be poor again. Be warned.

Wear the tag with pride. Wimps! Yen yen yen. Who beat una?

This lawal is an TOY.

Senathiefs

The worst NGRSenate in history. Rubberstamp

The 9th Senate is a worst than a rubber stamp senate

9th Senate is a big shame to 'US' they represent

The worst senate ever. The senate under Saraki had a semblance of independence;checked PMB a good number of times but Lawan is just another Aide of Buhari in the upper House.Rubber stamp is a euphemism really.

Some breakdown of the $22.7 loan: - Emergency Road Rehabilitation and Maintenance - $434.7m. – Abidjan-Lagos Corridor Highway Devt Project Study - $1.5m. - Nigeria Housing Finance Project Guarantee Scheme - $100m. – NTA Digitisation Project - $500m.

Yes you are rubber stamp

Nigeria for sell.😆😆😆😆😆😆

With the way things are going the senate, senator Saraki will just be laughing at this country and it's senate. It's is even fair to label them ''Rubber stamp''. So this is what Senator Lawan wanted in the 7th senate before Saraki outsmarted them.

As far as Senator Abaribe is still in the house, this loan must brought to table and must debate it🙄🙄

Aren't dey rubber stamp? 🙄🙄😏

Eromosele6 Like they aren’t Rubber stamp 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 ... Weyrey worry gbogbo won

Oh my, I can't believe they think so seriously about themselves.

The worst senate in history posterity will not be kind to them

This is not news worthy. You are just selling the propaganda of the opposition party.

I did not vote, the loan repayment is not my problem. If you like pay if u like don't pay but history will have it in record those that enjoy the loan.

So they were under gun point to approve the loan abi? Abeg close my door jare!!

Titi_Kabongo NGRSenate 9th Assembly no longer value like N1. Naira Akara. Shame!

Am in support of Abaribe. To me Senator Abaribe is the best senator. Senator Abaribe is a good man. Abaribe is seeing exactly what Nigeria is soon coming to become who will buy zoo country.

One can only imagine what our legislature will look like if they get the contemplated immunity. They'll be completely ruthless with legislation & trust me the masses will be the biggest casualty.

Nigeria wil make little developmental progress when those elected to improve the lives of citizens are too engrossed in self serving interests. Again I ask ‘of what use is the NA as presently constituted’?

Youths of tomorrow wake up your generation is been pulverised with debts

This govt...... Their second name is borrow borrow and nothing to show for it.

He is not only rubber stamp,he also has ink pad in him for stamping

My letter t u all senators of d present d past Nigeria goverments d the most shocking present president alhaji immanm abudu Mohammed Salamakekun.Allekussalam Aramakatuu, Gen. buhari, n governor's etc . Pl.sir's. life is not forever, pls fear God! U have destroyes us all sir

Rubber stamp Senate President.

Why Grumble abt wat they already kno they are - 'Fully Rubber Stamp senators/senate?' Have they not been living up to their purpose of agreeing to bill presented to them by Mr. Fulani president?

Lawan is a 'rubber stamp' ode SP

Beht where is d lie

You see how that loan request was approved; that is a clear evidence of rubber stamp. So, NASS is 'rubberstampia assembly'

For the SP, it's a compliment. A 'good boy' SP that looks out for the 'you are doing well' pass mark with a thumbs up from his principal.

That's who they are, only Senator Abaribe is different.

Dummies in power

If they truly are, why are they not speaking up? Why pleading anonymity on matter you feel strongly about? They all don't rate us

Why are they dignified? They are not rubber stamps, but they are kpako (wooden) stamps with 2min gum.

Politicians are the most poor and hungry people in Nigeria, this is why they can't serve as leaders, a poor man when giving opportunity he will be so greed to take all the money in sight.

Propaganda and conspiracy av their expiry date!Dey ganged up against bukolasaraki just to pave way 4 DrAhmadLawan who now turns out to b d worst SP in d history of Naija. Or hw can one explain dat SP coerced his colleagues to approve wot dey av not perused?

They shall know the truth and it shall set them free

But don't you think there's an atom of truth

Am not surprised about Nigerian. Because non of the Senate members has their own mind except abaribe

People should rest constituted authority.. Nigeria Senate B4 now is President senate , now that we can hear senate telling us something we don't know B4 people are calling them rubber stamp senate.. then what will u call obj NASS
