Rishi Sunak has increased the Universal Credit standard allowance for the next 12 months by £1,000 a year. The Chancellor said: ‘Together these measures will benefit over four million of our most vulnerable households.’
In the latest round of the government’s ‘exceptional package of support’ to get businesses and individuals through the coronavirus crisis, Mr Sunak said he is ‘strengthening the safety net’ for the self-employed by suspending the minimum income floor for anyone affected. It means self-employed people will be able to access Universal Credit at a rate equivalent to statutory sick pay for employees.
I don't understand this? Clearly it's a raise but is this per person or household? Some people on universal credit are on it for different circumstances than others.
Hahaha. I bet there's going to be a clause to claw back every penny and more. There always is.
WOW! 😳
Increase of £19.23 per week
and those on ESA or JSA ..PIP or DLA?
