PETALING JAYA: The recent 45-minute meeting between Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was to discuss ways to address the Covid-19 pandemic and several other issues of national interest, not about politics.

According to Anwar’s political secretary Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak, the PKR president was invited by Muhyiddin himself and the meeting was not about gaining political mileage.

"This is about the country’s future, not about personal political mileage, ” Farhash said in a statement Thursday . Farhash accused Haniza of being “naive” for drawing parallels between the Anwar and Muhyiddin meeting and hers. “The suspension of Haniza, while awaiting investigation by the disciplinary board along with several other individuals, isn’t shocking.
