Australia was 'right' to push back against China’s 'extraordinary' threat to damage Australia's economy, US Studies Centre’s James Brown says.

Australia was "right" to push back against China’s "extraordinary" threat to damage Australia's economy, US Studies Centre’s James Brown says. Chinese ambassador Cheng Jingye on Monday warned Australia’s export, tourism and education sectors could face a heavy hit from the withdrawal of Chinese interest if the government continued in its push for an inquiry into the handling of coronavirus.

Mr Brown said the warning, especially from the ambassador, was “extraordinary”. “Let's be clear, this was a direct threat from the Chinese communist party government,” he said. “Extraordinarily, the ambassador is threatening to do by design what they have already done by negligence - that is destroying our economy, reducing our exports, and declining our services industry. "So I think the government is right to push back.

Fuck China

Can we not to get interfered with China-US conflict and focus on our nearly collapsed economy? Our government is heavily in debt now!

China has no right to bully Australia government this is Australia take back all the asset from China and kick them out of Australia

How about the whole world cut China off. Great opportunity for many nations to take on manufacturing goods for worldwide consumers. China can be a huge N Korea. I say good riddance 👋🏻

Why is Chinese threat of boycotting Australia considered bad for Australia ? Economic distancing from China would be good for the world in the long term.. China is the new USSR, only more dangerous to the free world.

China did us a favour by pushing back, rather than wait for us to realise our stupidity in thinking we matter more to them than they to us.

Y'all are so close to China, it makes us angry and we want to fight, love y'all 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Guilt from China... Pure and simple. They know it : Australia know it : the world knows it : China knows the world is about to come calling post pandemic. China repeatedly condemn this world with viral agents with their greedy, self absorbed rape of the wilderness fauna and flora

There is no way that China should threaten us after what they have imposed on the world. They need to explain what happened in whuhan

China constantly probe for weaknesses in western nations. It’s time we started probing them. Cyber probing should be the minimum response. Near military collisions and fly overs should be another. If all western nations did this consistently they would not know where to turn.

This is just a diversion from the main issues

byrnes_terence Let'm damage it. Short term pain for long term gain. I'd firstly like to see Aussie caught fish back in our supermarkets. Not asian shit. All our fish is exported.

Commys

Tim_jbo The West needs to stop worrying about embarrassing China. Whilst Chinese culture has the concept of not wanting to lose face, Xi Jinping is not inhibited by this characteristic. Xi Jinping is a follower of Li Zongwu's hòu hēi xué ('Thick Black Theory').

Be a great leader and have our back ScottMorrisonMP Fight back. Bring back Australian manufacturing 🤞

Typical psycho anger guilt outrage. China’s outburst confirms China is “guilty as hell”, and the anger spat is to scare us into believing China is not guilty. Walter White said “I am the danger”, the egocentric feckless China is now clearly telling the world “China is the virus”

Story so far.Trump in trouble looks for scapegoat; tries WHO, Bill Gates, Obama, Governors, China; latter picked up by ScottyFM after Trump call. Australian mini-me politicians push China, China threatens Australia, Australia threatens China. Easily led follow & Trump's work done

Excellent article on this subject here:

Who would have thought the LiberalAus would stoop to virtue signalling.😮

too late Australia has put all your eggs in one basket, Australia too dependent on China
