"If one were to bring one's family to visit Perak or any other place, they must feel confident about the hotels, eateries and other related locations," said Datuk Mohammad Odzman Abdul Kadir.
"As such, the state would need to first visit and evaluate these locations, certifying them as safe," Odzman added. A number of hotels here have also shut down while the state is reported to have started to draw up an action plan to galvanise the tourism industry."If it's just the operators saying so, it does not necessarily have much impact. The state needs to take the lead.
"The SOP should include temperature checks for visitors, social distancing and personal hygiene practices that must be followed," he added."There should also be periodical visits by the respective authorities, not just once, during the beginning stages."With the conditional MCO starting on Monday, I think this is the best time to get cracking.Odzman said the public too would need to be responsible by adhering to certain discipline.
