Coronavirus: Thousands signal interest in plasma trial

The critical care consultant at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust in London said:"What we are doing this trial is to give you instantaneous protection against the virus using an antibody that is developed by patients who recover from the virus.

Jo Toozs-Hobson said she decided to take part despite being terrified of needles after her whole family got sick - her husband was in hospital for five days. As a junior doctor at Sandwell hospital in Birmingham, Zahid Sarfaz has treated patients with coronavirus but he has also been ill himself.

Let them do it and if anything goes wrong rule me out

Stop giving hope!!/it takes one person donation for one treatment do the maths!!!

Without an antibody test how do we know if we were infected. Would live to donate plasma, if only for normal use, but there is a wait of two months to just donate blood locally. I'm O Rhesus Neg a group always sought after

Take a little extra it will help with global supply issues

Just asking ..the ENTIRE world's compliment of scientists have still not , between ALL of them , come up with where this bug came from , how it works/attacks Humans , how to negate its effects or prevent the spread..HMMMMM , conspiracy theory overdrive on all the BS being spouted

We most try everything for the sake of our children and grandchildren for there future we have to change our world 🌍 for better

This is the first time I am hearing about this, how did the 6500 people that have volunteered heard about it.

Are they only looking at volunteers that had been diagnosed and recovered or are they offering tests to see if you have had and if yes we could then help with the trial?

They have been using this method all around the world for a while. Why are they just starting it?

Potential game changer.

Coming soon... thousands poisoned with dodgy plasma...

Got to be positive and embrace what our scientists are trying to achieve good luck!!

Plasma trial will not be as effective as BCG vaccination with the Indian strain or Japanese strain of the bacteria. Should Work excellently in non infected population .Should be Safe for the elderly. But will not work in serious n critical cases.

just do this...

Nope more FakeNews by the bbc

AdrenoChome..? come on.. you can tell me..?

Millions don't.

Not necessarily light at the end of the tunnel, and but hopefully a candle in the wind.

You mean the 1,999,999,999,999 who have signalled an interest. After yesterday’s duplicity on UK government testing no one is ever going to believe the BBC’s reporting of figures. We are simply being lied to.

Glad they are trying different treatments! we need all the treatments we can get to fight this virus....

savetheliving MattHancock patients are starving at home

It will NOT STOP if You not do anything.

Probably in favour of vaccines that cause sterilization too. Dummies.

I'm not confident of this method. Anyway let them try as we continue trusting in the Lord for a break through

Very interesting trial.....

Thousands .... C'mon, it's BS isn't it .. you've been rumbled. Stop pushing your agenda.

More of an LED man actually
