Resources Minister mattjcan says he is in favour of reducing JobKeeper payments to encourage Australians to return to work.

Resources Minister Matt Canavan says he is in favour of reducing JobKeeper payments to encourage Australians to return to work. "I've heard lots of reports from small businesses in rural in regional areas they're struggling to find people, Mr Canavan said. "Sometimes people feel they can get as much on the dole effectively, and that's not a sustainable outcome. "It was necessary to help people through a crisis but some parts of our economy are getting back on deck.

" The federal government will today outline details of its expanded JobKeeper and JobSeeker support schemes, which will be extended beyond their original September end date. "The JobKeeper program is costing us $10 billion a month and what we have to do now is taper and target these support measures, he said. "We're almost certainly going to break through $1 trillion in debt in the next few years.

mattjcan Umm, either Sky, or Canavan (probably both) don't know what JobKeeper is. Individuals don't get it as a choice. If they are beneficiaries of JK, then they have a job. They are not on the dole. They are employed. JK rate only determines whether employers continue to pay staff.

mattjcan First create jobs, real jobs no exploitation of workers, few hours here and there are not jobs. No wonder this country is going up to shit with so called politicians like we have this days. Smart politicians are things of the past. This days politicians think only about themselves

mattjcan How dumb he must be to say something like that. 99% of people would like nothing more than have safe secure jobs not living in limbo and fear if they are going to be able to afford ruff over head, pay for education, health and so on for their family’s. Lucky country is only dream

mattjcan Yet he supports closing parliament and not reducing politicians wages. Hypocrite.

mattjcan Noting Matty is not back at work but is still being paid. Tax cuts end up offshore - no help there. And question Matty, what work where? Problem is that it doesn’t matter how you answer, there are far more candidates than jobs. Recovery will just take significantly longer now.

mattjcan Canavan Whete Are the Bloody jobs 1job for 13 people fool

mattjcan Good on you 🤡 . We have been waiting for bated breath for your contribution to the debate.

mattjcan 'The floggings will continue until morale improves.' - Canavan School of Mgt

mattjcan Forcing people into poverty when he knows there are nowhere near enough jobs to go around. Idiotic neocon ideology.

mattjcan Matt doesn't know what the hell he is talking about. There are 13 Australian job seekers for every 1 available job. auspol

mattjcan But rich coming from the laziest government in history. Too risky for them to hold a parliament we are told. Maybe if we reduce their job keeper payment they’ll stop doing interviews on Sky and get to work.

mattjcan I suggest he does the same or STFU.

mattjcan So can we reduce politicians pay to encourage federal politicians back to work?

mattjcan There is only 1 job fit every 16 people currently. This is the dumbest story and comment by Canavan.

mattjcan I am in favour of reducing mattjcan pay to encourage him to return to work.

mattjcan Absolutely. Bloody bludging Aussies crying poor that they can’t find jobs. Age care sector scrambling looking 4 ppl only Nepalese who arrived yesterday in the country grab these jobs. skynewsaustnattjcan

mattjcan But they’re not prepared to go to work? Too Dangerous? JobShirker

MSMWatchdog2013 mattjcan And politicians should be paid per parliamentary sitting.

MSMWatchdog2013 mattjcan But the idea of Jobkeeper was to keep your job so you can return to work when your workplace reopens. Employees can’t reopen their workplace themselves. Do you not understand your own policy?

MSMWatchdog2013 mattjcan Shame the politicians won't go back to work, despite still getting paid. They don't like accountability.

MSMWatchdog2013 mattjcan And therefore proving he’s an idiot.

mattjcan Senator mattjcan says poor people can be placed in vats and wired up as batteries.

mattjcan If Morrison had cut the salaries of MPs and Senators maybe the good Senator would be anxious to get back to work too!

mattjcan 900,000 unemployed. 130,000 vacant positions.

mattjcan What jobs? Let us at them!!

mattjcan I’m 56, over 160 applications not one interview.

mattjcan Depending on the measure there’s between 13-20 people looking for each new job in Australia. Enthusiasm isn’t the issue.

mattjcan THERE. ARE. NO. FUCKING. JOBS!!!!!

mattjcan Eeerrrmm!! Matt if this is your argument Why T F aren’t you back in parliament?

mattjcan If only we all had Canberra jobs where they pay you to not turn up.

mattjcan There is no work unless we can keep people spending. Also, it’s our money . Hope this helped

mattjcan The prick that backed the wrong horse, but wishes with best effort arsehole?

mattjcan Everyone should return to work in those non existent jobs.....mattjcan is a dope.

mattjcan What work Matty? 🙄

mattjcan In that case I'm in favour of reducing Federal politicians' payments to encourage them to return to work

mattjcan Caravan is a wanker reduce their pay seen there is no parliament

mattjcan Yep I'm in favour of it too. A couple of million people living in poverty just before the next election ought to do it.....bye bye LNP

mattjcan Maybe he can get them to work digging for coal... Or maybe as chimney sweeps....

mattjcan Deadshit bludger hasn’t got a clue. I added another 6.6kW PV into the grid today. Come on everyone, upset matt by making coal redundant.

mattjcan Can the wanker from qld tell us about these jobs? 1.3 million unemployed. 100,000 vacancies.

mattjcan Seems like getting paid a minimum of $200K pa plus an expense account that would make an 80's advertising exec blush is acting as a disincentive for our politicians to do their job. They sat for only 45 days in 2019 & this year will be even less. Leaners extraordinarie....

mattjcan Another Italian job.

mattjcan Did he specify WTF work it was that anyone could return to? Idiots like this belong in the 19th century.

mattjcan That's the way Matty , starve the bastards back to work, bludgers, sitting around smoking dope, drinking coke, fornicating in the middle of the day, they should all follow your magnificent example & work ethic.

mattjcan And where would that be exactly? Nope, you just want to control the poor and the agenda.

mattjcan Where are these jobs mattjcan where?

mattjcan That Hansonesque notion that taking people to the brink of starvation & homelessness is a good motivator.

mattjcan But he is not in favour of reducing the remuneration package of malingering politicians...surprise, surprise!

mattjcan Thereby demonstrating that his arrogance is exceeded only by his stupidity. He is clearly entirely ignorant about the Australian ethos.

mattjcan Hey Canavan in light of your comments it is most appropriate that members of Parliament are only paid a salary based on actual sitting days, say at $85.00 a day before tax. Looking forward to your support for this approach.

mattjcan What will encourage the LNPfail slackers to get back to work?

mattjcan How about you politicians go on reduced jobkeeper rste with no allowances until you get back to work? A bunch of shirkers the lot of you

mattjcan Can he then encourage the foul lnp to go back to work

mattjcan Let me ask you something. Do you do everything just because of the money you get in return?

mattjcan Not in VIC

mattjcan What work mattjcan ? There's 110,000 jobs for 1.6 million unemployed. Rolling out the same BS rhetoric for an unprecedented situation. Its LAZY politics auspol

mattjcan Cost of living hasn't gone down. I presume Canavan is OK with increased poverty and hardship and sick people going to work and spreading COVID19Aus

mattjcan Pray tell what work are they meant to return to when the economy is in free fall. Only a privileged politician could say such STUPID stuff. BTW punishment & privation are not synonymous with encouragement. We should reduce politicians pay to encourage their return to parliament.

mattjcan What part about there being no work available does this lunatic not understand?

mattjcan He says while not returning to work

mattjcan Maybe help small businesses in the tax area to allow them to get or keep staff employed.

RichForrest2 mattjcan Didn't score well at Maths eh Matt? 1m out of work. 20k jobs available. So lower Jobseeker is going to magically fix the gap. Your a sick bunch of Puppies in LNP Canberra.

RichForrest2 mattjcan News flash. You need jobs to return too.

mattjcan

mattjcan I'd like to see all the front bench politicians go on the same fortnightly payment for just a month and see how they would go at surviving day to day.... JobKeeper

mattjcan Does this mean that if we reduce payments to Federal MPs and Senators they'll go back to Parliament House for the August sittings?

mattjcan That’s okay if you have a job to go back too, what if there isn’t cause of COVID19 closing business or bankrupting business?

mattjcan Ha Ha Ha bet he is but don’t touch his pay packet

mattjcan What jobs would they be returning to Matt? Unemployment is rising and there are 13 unemployed for every vacancy

mattjcan

mattjcan

mattjcan Shame we can’t get politicians back to work

mattjcan It’s called jobkeeper for a reason. It keeps businesses employing people 🤷🏻‍♀️

mattjcan And yet parliament is not going to sit... Perhaps we should reduce the parliamentary salary to encourage Matt to pressure his bosses to return to work too... ?

mattjcan After articles and rubbish from yours and other News Corp services pushing the myth that JobKeeper and JobSeeker increases are making people not want to work I'm not surprised. Try reporting some facts for a change

mattjcan Social safety nets are not a punitive lever you can pull to coerce a population - they’re there to save people’s lives, to feed their children, to keep them off the street. Especially when there aren’t any jobs to coerce them into... auspol AuspolSoCorrupt RaiseTheRate

mattjcan If mattjcan lost a day's pay for each Sitting Day cancelled would he be more keen to push for resumption of Parliament ,?

mattjcan back to what jobs exactly? Holy sht these clowns are clueless

mattjcan I’ll happily return to work if you make it possible for my workplace to reopen.

mattjcan Says the man with a guaranteed job and $200,000 plus a year!

mattjcan Now you are talking some sense. The country cannot maintain, sustain, or afford, this level of financial assistance. Human nature is such that if we get stuff for nothing many of us accept it readily, and are happy to coast along.

mattjcan Then shouldn't all of Parliament take a pay cut? They a lot more than the people they are going to slug it to. ScottyFromMarketing ruled that out though whilst he goes and watches the footy disregarding social distancing.

mattjcan There’s no need of Jobkeeper except Victoria and NSW rest of the country should get back to work.

mattjcan I think he gets the balance right most of the time. Libs May be guilty of becoming too dogmatic in their economic and size of government approach.

He is not the Resources Minister, Keith Pitt is. mattjcan

mattjcan How will that work, you fucking 'Rhodes Scholar'? There are 13 people for every job opportunity.

mattjcan This is irony right. This coming from another bludging politician only too happy draw a taxpayer wage while sitting on his arse doing nothing. BludgeMo Can attend a football game but not parliament.

mattjcan What work? Have you been living in a closet?

mattjcan mattjcan there are no jobs for most Australians to return to that are productive or sustainable. You and the LibLab machine have made dead sure of that over 20 years of selling off our sovereignty, our gas, our agriculture and taking the dumb idea of population ponzi

mattjcan Asy to say. If the jobs aren’t there, lower payments will reduce demand and the economy will contract.

mattjcan Didn't know that Parliament House in Canberra was employing!. Of the Australians that have lost jobs, most are simply too old now to be re-considered. Employers looking for cheap to run labor or many just shutting down completely. Job keeper is the only thing keeping them going.

mattjcan Since when is this goose the resources minister?

mattjcan What work would that be, matt?

mattjcan And when is this over paid politician going back to work

mattjcan Maybe we should reduce politicians wages to encourage them to return to work

mattjcan 13 unemployed people for every job vacancy. But sure, people need to get off their dole-bludging arses and back to work.

mattjcan You first. In fact no, resign. Wouldn't pay you to pick up dunny cans.
