DASH, the mobile payments platform of Singapore Telecommunications , is partnering global aid initiative Ezra to help migrant workers in Singapore stay connected to their families by giving out extra airtime credit, the telco said on Tuesday.

From July 22 to Aug 23, Singtel is offering credit of up to two times the value of top-ups to migrant workers who use Dash to purchase international mobile airtime for their friends and family back home. The international mobile airtime is enabled by Ezra's partner DT One, a global network for mobile top-ups. The top-ups are available to multiple destinations, including Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam.

Dash, which is available to users regardless of telco or banking relationship, has over a million registered users. It has become an"essential" mobile app for many migrant workers in the Republic, with remittance as a key service used by these workers, Singtel said. Singtel international group head of mobile financial services Gilbert Chuah said the campaign was the telco's way of"showing appreciation to the migrant community which has contributed to building Singapore".
