The stark separation between the public and private sector in Victoria has been brought into focus by a two per cent per annum public servant pay rise negotiated by the Andrews government according to Sky News host Rita Panahi. The pay rise decision followed a deal which was struck between the Victorian government and the unions.

Ms Panahi said “this is just a slap in the face for people who have lost their livelihoods, lost their businesses, are wondering how they are going to be paying for the mortgage and yet you’ve got public servants getting a pay rise”. She pointed out the pay rise decision coincided with an increase in the Victorian payroll tax. The public sector and the private sector seem to be “two different worlds,” she told Sky News host Chris Smith.

RitaPanahi If we are really all together in this than any pay increase to anyone should not happen until we are through this. The pay increase is given to people WHO HAVE A JOB and as such doing pretty well at the moment and are not sharing the pain!!!!!!

RitaPanahi Who is that on your money? I know who it looks like, but that can't be right.

RitaPanahi Rita pays to appear on this garbage channel?

RitaPanahi Pay rise is a disgrace

RitaPanahi Anyone who believes nut job racist Rita are cooked beyond belief.

RitaPanahi Who are these public servants? * Health care workers taking care of the covid mess. * Firefighters that had a busy summer * The police....the people you would run screaming to when it suited you.

UrsusDropiticus RitaPanahi Now they are just taking the piss.

RitaPanahi Disgraceful. They seem to have a total inability to read the room - or maybe they just choose to ignore it. Remember most of these public servants vote for the Andrews government so he’s just keeping his flock happy.

RitaPanahi Pay rises? That's odd, public servants (other than politicians) had their already negotiated 2% pay rises frozen. That's 2 WHOLE PERCENT! Yet expected to keep country running as normal during COVID19 coronavirus pandemic What are non essential television presenters paid? 💰🤔

RitaPanahi Only Corrupt Nazis do this. Traitors will hang for it!
