12 men detained for loan sharking

THE police have detained 12 men on suspicion of running an illegal money-lending business, after a week-long series of raids on several locations in Johor Baru, Batu Pahat, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur last week.

Johor police chief Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay said nine men, aged between 23 and 36, were arrested on August 15 in raids in Johor Baru, Batu Pahat and Kuala Lumpur. Effective July 2018, access to full reports will only be available with a subscription. Sign-up now and enjoy one week free access!
