Queensland's debt levels will blow out to more than $100 billion by mid next year — $18 billion more than what was predicted before the coronavirus pandemic hit.

The Government's fiscal economic update for the 2020-21 financial year has revealed the state coffers have been hit by a combination of increased borrowings and falling revenue, pushing the predicted debt level to nearly $102 billion.

State revenue is expected to fall by an estimated $6.8 billion over the 2019/20 and current financial years.

To all those hammering the typical of the Labor party, consider the state of the federal economy, a result of 8 years of LNP lunacy. Keep in mind the huge waste as a result of rampant corruption.

Regardless of political party, our governments are saddling us and our children with debt. When you add federal and state debt, each Queenslander owes $46,694.93 which equates to $121,406.82 per household. Overlay household debt and the picture is grim.

The AFL grand final is joke. Going to a rugby state that can’t afford it anyway Very strange.

Naturally Labor....

Better keep the borders closed indefinitely then.

An interesting take. In a time when every state and federal gov is hit by massive debt, it is kind of a given, you would think you would have reported more from this other then ho hum. The renewable energy part was quite important.

The Premier is utterly out of her depth and so irresponsible as to beyond beliefin what is supposedly a federation.

Labor are Pathetic.

And the Federal Government has a deficit of.....?

. Talk about propaganda... The ABC keep running anti-qld labor stories to try and help the liberal party at the next state election. It is shameless... next they'll be running anti-victorian govt stories... .

Yet they still clearly think to host the AFL is a good investment?! FFS This country would be better run by dogs
