Borrow RM31.4 billion to save 1 million jobs, DAP urges govt

The coronavirus pandemic has exacted a heavy toll on the economy with growth contracting 17.1% in the second quarter, the worst among Asean members. The opposition is urging Putrajaya to act to save jobs and businesses. – EPA pic, September 7, 2020.

DAP is urging Putrajaya to adopt three economic proposals, which could cost RM31.4 billion, to save jobs and livelihood. Secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said this comprises a monthly aid of RM1,000, extension of moratorium on bank loans by another six months as well as hiring incentives for employers and employees.
