The Australian Bureau of Statistics has released its lending indicators data for the month of July showing the value of new home loans increased by almost nine per cent.

Total loans were up 8.9 per cent to $18.9 billion.

Owner occupied loans saw was the largest month-on-month rise in the history of the series, with the ABS putting it down to social distancing restrictions being eased in most states and territories.
