JPJ will take action against Malaysians who loan their vehicles to foreigners without valid driving licences.

Its acting director Azmil Zainal Adnan said many foreigners who were caught driving vehicles owned by Malaysians did not possess the necessary licence or insurance.

“A total of 130 vehicles have been inspected and brought to the state JPJ headquarters for further action,” Azmil said during a press conference at the Johor JPJ headquarters. He added that of the 71 foreigners, 37 of them are Myanmar nationals, 20 Pakistan nationals, six from Bangladesh and three from India.

“Some of the offences include driving without a competent driver’s licence , driving with an expired licence and driving without road insurance,” he said adding that investigations also revealed that the foreigners have not only been driving illegally but have also driven modified vehicles.
