I gave up vacations, repair my own cars, don’t drink, & saved earnestly to take care of my family & my kids college, and taught them to make good choices. All this free tuition and forgiveness talk are only teaching these kids to be entitled and make stupid choices.
Or we could actually do what’s already in place, & have loan forgiveness based of Income-based payment plans of 10 -15 years. That way they pay some back & if someone still hasn’t paid it off by then then it’s forgiven. But I think the schools & banks need skin in the game also.

If we ever reach a higher level of student loan defaults, people are going to wish there had been loan forgiveness. As it is, the limitations student loan debt has placed on a generation of students will hurt us all in the long term. We shouldn’t be so short-sighted.

All student loans should be payable out of future income tax with a max 2% tuition increase cap for the future. Guaranteed first look for civil jobs for applicants that are in this program. Education lasts a lifetime.
