SEREMBAN: A 40-year-old woman from Mantin near here has been cheated of almost RM117,000 in separate loan scams.

Negri Sembilan Commercial Crime Investigation Department chief Supt Aibee Ab Ghani said the victim, who runs a motorcycle repair shop, came across low-interest loans purportedly offered by two banks on social media and decided to apply.

"The following day, she applied for a RM100,000 loan from another so-called bank which also offered 1.38% interest," he said on Tuesday . "For the first application, she spoke to an individual by the name of Jackie Ang and for the second, she liaised with one Sharon Ang. Supt Aibee said the victim was also told to make payments if she wanted the process to be expedited and given the accounts of individuals with other banks.
