Amazon will stop accepting Visa credit cards in the UK from 19 January, the online retail giant has told customers.
Visa said it was "very disappointed that Amazon is threatening to restrict consumer choice in the future". In an email to UK customers, Amazon said: "Starting 19 January, 2022, we will unfortunately no longer accept Visa credit cards issued in the UK, due to the high fees Visa charges for processing credit card transactions.
Amazon also asked customers to update payment methods, including for Prime membership and any subscriptions.A Visa spokesperson said: "UK shoppers can use their Visa debit and credit cards at Amazon UK today and throughout the holiday season.
Can’t really blame Jeff, going to nearly space is very expensive, he needs all the spare cash he can get!!

The article says that this is not because of Brexit but because MasterCard have raised their fees after Brexit.

Why can’t we have the choice how we pay. Well Amazon looks like you’ve shot yourself in the arse, cos many customers will walk away and purchase elsewhere with their Visa cards.

Stopped using amazon since royal mail, hermes, ups etc. Got their contacts taken of them. Amazon don't give time slots.. nope nope.
Their loss, you can get things cheaper elsewhere now.

Started using amazon less and less these days. Ebay is my first port of call
