PETALING JAYA: Malaysia’s Jeremy Gan continues to be consistent in producing winners for Japan.

In just five years as the mixed doubles coach, Jeremy has guided Yuta Watanabe-Arisa Higashino to the All-England title three times and runners-up spot once.

On Sunday, the fourth seeds Watanabe-Higashino defeated Tokyo Olympic Games champions Wang Yilyu-Huang Dongping of China 21-19, 21-19 in one of the best finals of the day to defend the title. The duo won their first All-England just months after Jeremy took over in 2018 and reached the final in 2019 before losing.It won’t be too wrong to conclude that Sunday’s success was also one of the best performances from Watanabe-Higashino.

Not wanting to bask in the limelight, Jeremy attributed the success to the players’ high-level of commitment and talent.“Yuta suffered an injury during the World Championships last year and I’m glad he has recovered well,
