The country has abundant reserves of crop products, coal, iron ore, natural gas, manganese, salt, oil, graphite, sulfur, kaolin, titanium, nickel, magnesium, timber, and mercury. Is this the reason Putin wants Ukraine? What will Europe then pay for Gas etc
Russia can’t even defeat a small country’s army, it’s not going to start a war with NATO by using Nuclear Weapons. It’s not suicidal. The fear of going the war nuclear is being used as a feeble excuse by world leaders whenever it’s seen to be politically expedient to do so.
Good that Germany has sensibly stood up against war hysteria. There needs to be a negotiated settlement as the other options are a dictated peace after Ukranian surrender/Ukraine being destroyed. Sending more arms is simply prolonging the misery and adding to the death toll.
I like how the Brits like to have their cake and eat it too - they have nothing to lose, don't buy oil/gas from Russia. So, by wrecking havoc on both Russia and Germany, the Brits win.
