President Biden signaled to House Democrats this week that he is seriously considering taking action to forgive student-loan debt on a large scale

for borrowers with federal student loans since March 13, 2020, at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. The U.S. has extended the pause on payments several times amid pressure from prominent Democrats to offer relief to the public.

Mr. Biden has previously expressed skepticism about issuing blanket student-loan forgiveness, arguing that people who attend expensive private schools and graduate programs shouldn’t receive the same amount of relief as students who attend public universities. As a candidate, Mr.

Such proposals wouldn’t do anything to help future borrowers, and some of Mr. Biden’s advisers have privately expressed concern that across-the-board student-debt forgiveness could benefit middle-to-upper-class professionals with advanced degrees, who tend to have large amounts of student debt. Those advisers have argued for a more tailored approach that would limit debt forgiveness to lower-income borrowers, according to people with knowledge of the administration’s deliberations.

CBS News and the Washington Post reported earlier about Mr. Biden’s remarks at the closed-door meeting.toward large-scale debt forgiveness by making it easier for millions of lower-income borrowers to qualify for debt cancellation through income-based repayment plans. Those plans allow borrowers to pay off loans at a set percentage of their income for 20 or 25 years and have the rest of the balance forgiven. The Education Department plans to move roughly 3.

Vote buying at its best

Investment projects, earn 30% a day; invest 500,000 US dollars, earn 150,000 US dollars a day, have you tried it?

I will NEVER vote for another democrat if this goes through!

Biden is incapable of considering ANYTHING. This is an obvious 'plant' story by one or more of his 'handlers.'

How about instead of cutting the debt( which obviously non borrowers and responsible borrowers will be taxed on too) legislate the banks into cutting checks for student loan debt, auto debt and mortgage debt in the same proportions? This way we all get something back from the ..

Gotta pander and get votes somehow in Nov 🤷‍♂️

The President does not have the legal authority to forgive student loans on his own. Only Congress has the power of the purse. Executive action can be used only when it has been specifically authorized by Congress.

INVESTIGATE THIS

Have the Biden Family pay it with their stolen proceeds!

Axis zasa

When is he going to positively accomplish anything, or is it going 4yrs of seriously considering serious considerations?

Buying votes before the mid-terms.

No Joe, no. They borrowed it they pay it back. You gonna forgive my tax bill each year?

Dangling the same carrot again? The beasts of burden are getting wiser.

A desperate attempt at vote buying.

Unfortunately, he’s not capable of considering anything.

Haha 😂

Start up the printing presses. There’s over a $trillion to create

free up debt so more loans can be made

I'll believe it when I see it.

Do it!

Inflation 🚀

A desperate move from a desperate man in his low 30s approval rating. Trying to buy his way up. This will certainly be unpopular

Considering? after 2 yrs in office? he will continue to say the same thing for the next 2 yrs. lol

Midterms 😂😂😂😂😂

Populism 101

Thats called buying voters.

If the interest rate structure was at least modified to a reasonable interest rate, that could be a big win too!

So Poop Art Professors can charge even more money for useless liberal arts classes?

😡

Taxpayers did not sign promissory notes

Not even going to debate if it should be done or not. But I find it interesting he is saying he is doing a lot to tap down inflation, while considering a pretty stimulative policy. Permanent changes to financial situations might unleash quite a bit of spending.

It’s time to buy votes since I suck … banana republic strategy
