I worked Student loans for a bank, default dept. There are different types and many different schools (some that shouldn’t even be called that),& many who got ripped off by those schools with useless degrees or credits. Some dropout after a day but school kept all the $.

This was a Biden campaign pledge. If he does this, he is making good on his public word. That is not a bribe, or if it is, politicians should be called out during campaigns for making pledges that could actually help people.

Does anyone realize that forgiven student loans become taxable income? Unless they have changed that also (they haven’t) you get say, $35K forgiven and your gross income for that year goes up $35K. Goodbye to any earned income or child credit and you owe the IRS $5K

Senator Romney, I was a nurse for 25 years which I became disabled, my husband retired after 40 years as a over the road truck driver. We have always paid our taxes and I bet more than you and the rest of the rich. It is time that all of you rich stop bitching and pay your share.
My wife and I paid off about 50k in student loans over 6 years after earning our bachelors degrees. It would be grossly unfair to make the rest of us pay off their debt.
