Street Talk can reveal Credit Suisse managing directors Adam Lennen, Ian Arnold and Stephen Pickles each resigned from the Swiss bank on Thursday morning, to head to Jarden. Lennen, a 20 year-plus veteran at Credit Suisse, is expected to be appointed head of Jarden’s investment banking team in Melbourne.Jarden investment banking heads Aidan Allen and Sarah Rennie told staff about the hires on Thursday. They said the trio would start at Jarden’s new office in 101 Collins Street once their gardening leave is over.
Lennen and Arnold oversaw Credit Suisse’s equity capital markets business - arranging IPOs, raising capital for listed companies, underwriting block trades and the like - while Pickles ran the bank’s industrials coverage. The bulk hire will fuel expectations that Credit Suisse’s junior Melbourne-based bankers are also in play. Credit Suisse’s top brass called an emergency meeting for all investment banking staff at 12.15pm on Thursday, sources said.
