This is absolute bullshit. The Higher Education Act gives them authority to forgive the principals. Also, who has standing to sue? Congress can impeach, but Dems control it.

The legality of this stunt was dubious from the start.

It also isn't feasible, given the current education system. How would tuitions be funded moving forward? Banks would have a hard time writing loans they know their customers have no intention to pay back.
