BREAKING Canada's jobless rate drops to a new low, ensuring more interest-rate hikes

didn’t turn up stunning results like it has over the previous few months. Employment was little changed in April, as absences from illness and disability appeared to offset employers’ desire to hire to keep up with strong demand for goods and services.

It’s possible the country’s labour market is hitting its limits after adding more than 400,000 workers over February and March. The Bank of Canada concluded in April that demand has overshot supply, contributing to the fastest inflation in more than three decades. The central bank raised its benchmark rate a half point in April, and governor Tiff Macklem hinted last month that he and his deputies likely will do so again in June.

Statistics Canada said average hourly wages increased 3.3 per cent from April 2021, strong by recent historical standards, but still well short of inflation, as the consumer price index surges almost seven per cent over the same period.

People need to stop overextending on their loans. This is one of the few ways the government can combat inflation.

Lie: jobless rates low Lie: Interest rates at FIAT currency banks is connected pathetic

if only the job numbers reflected reality

And the budget will balance itself nah that’s not gonna happen BoC raising interest rates will put more damage onto Canadians

It's going to take 5 to 7 percent to fix inflation. I started saying that last year, and I'm no economist. I've started settling all debts and credit lines. Going to get ugly for the overextended.

Time for the class war to restart as a two sided affair rather than as a one sided sabotage Living wages pegged to productivity, dignity at work and social mobility Mass mobilization, general strikes and direct action ftw Kick them in the capitalism until they beg for mercy

People have jobs, let the banks charge them more!! People don't have jobs, let the banks have free money!!

Poll: Is this artificial inflation?
