Dean Henderson, 25, has joined Nottingham Forest on loan for the 2022/23 campaign following the arrival of Dutch manager Erik ten Hag, with whom the goalkeeper claims he has not spoken.
In a scathing interview, the shot-stopper has insisted the treatment he received was"criminal" and revealed he turned down promising loan proposals only to be consistently overlooked for David de Gea."It has been tough, hard, and I am so happy I have gone out the other end of it. I am so excited to be at Nottingham Forest and ready to go. The conversation I had coming out of the Euros squad was: 'You're coming back here to be the No. 1'.
"To sit there for 12 months, it is criminal really, at my age, I was fuming. I worked hard on and off the pitch to keep improving, day in, day out, and now I am looking forward to the season with Nottingham Forest."You may have noticed that I haven't been able to do an interview in two years. That's evident, isn't it?
"There's nothing wrong with self-belief, you have to believe in yourself in this game. Especially in this position you're probably playing the hardest position on the pitch, you have to believe in yourself.
