Former deputy prime minister John Anderson says King Charles III upcoming visit to Northern Ireland follows the footsteps of “great unifier” Queen Elizabeth II.

“That was built I think on her enormous capacity for forgiveness and her generosity of spirit,” he told Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“It reflects very well on him that he’s going there very early … we wish him all the best because it’s very important work indeed that he’s embarking on there in the interest of the union,” he said.
