the more jobs and businesses created, the more the govt is able to collect taxes from. unless you prefer the govt to get their income from arab donations. at the moment, the car industry is the easiest to expand becos we already have the expertise, infrastructures and smes for it
any form of industries will provide jobs for the people. that is what matters the most. it will also provide more business for existing smes. proton itself created more than 500,000 jobs, directly and indirectly
most of the 'nos' came from foreign cars lovers. the fact is, perodua and proton still sold the most cars compared to imports even though import tariffs and duties have been reduced and their prices is almost the same, if not cheaper, for more than 10 years already
