The Federal Reserve raised interest rates by another 0.75-percent point to combat inflation, Chairman Jerome Powell said on Wednesday. Powell hinted at a possible slowdown in the pace of increases.
Photo: Al Drago/Bloomberg NewsFederal Reserve chairman Jerome Powell had one overriding message for markets Wednesday: Stop obsessing over. That’s because Mr. Powell also said that the final resting place for the Fed’s interest-rate target—dubbed the “terminal rate”—is going up.
He said it's higher than 5 and inflation ain't showing signs of abating Many vets of W Street have 'higher for longer' at way above 5 for awhile then 4-5.5 for awhile to 'temper enthusiasm aka irrational exuberance'
Coz he doesn’t know himself.
Terminal Rate will have to go above the rate of inflation as always.
Yeah … that’s a problem👇
If the terminal rate is 7% the market is gonna have a bad time.
