I was introduced to BeyondBurger and honestly thought the restaurant sent me a real beef burger and was about to return it. OMG it was so good I was blown away! Why torture cattle and be plagued with poor sanitary conditions in processing plants only to deal w ecoli & recalls

If we reach a point where we can grow synthetic meat that's nutritionally identical to natural meat then I'd be all for it. Wrt plant-based meat substitutes, I'm not super into them personally and lots of them aren't safe for members of my household with food allergies.
We can help save the planet if we'd stop eating beef. I'd try this for the generations to come.
I’ve yet to have anything that is any real threat to real, quality beef. I tried Beyond Burger, GROSS. And the lab stuff is at least a decade or two away from being cost efficient and/or palatable. The real threat is sustainable and free range. Mass producers should worry.

I’m skeptical of lab-grown anything, but if we can spare some animal lives as well as cut down on the environmental havoc the industry creates then I am all for the lab meat.
Being a Texan, I love my ribeye. I also love a good burger. Don't think that I will like Frankenmeat. Just sayin.
People eat meat fillers from fast food places everyday, I don’t see why people are put off by this. If need be they can ease people into it with a mix of lab grown and formerly living animal but it is inevitable that we will transition over at some point as human population grows

Some meat substitutes are actually quite good. None of them are as good as the real thing, but I think the economics of meat will mean that actual meat is a luxury. Our planet cannot sustain a meat industry where we all eat like Americans.
I’m looking forward to meat-based plant substitutes. Like mashed hamtatoes and grilled beets but with veal instead of beets because beets are yuckers
