As Postmedia has reported, there’s been lots of interest, with as many as six groups and likely more reaching out to GSP. NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said last week that parties calling the league office had been referred to GSP.
We’ve also been led to believe the 46-year-old Reynolds held talks with NHL commissioner Gary Bettman to express formal interest. The league would love to see Reynolds as part of a group.The bidders can’t have access unless they’ve received approval from GSP and there’s a possibility a security deposit may be required. This will be a massive transaction with the possibility the Senators may sell for between $800 million and $1 billion.
Though Anthony LeBlanc, the Senators’ president of business operations, and Erin Crowe, chief financial officer, have continued working on the deal with the NCC, the new owner would have to be in place to sign off on the agreement.Article content
