Maxwell Frost, House representative-elect and future first member of Generation Z in Congress, says he was denied an apartment in Washington D.C. over bad credit.

Maxwell Frost, set to become in January the first member of Generation Z to serve in Congress, says he has been denied an apartment in Washington, D.C., over bad credit.

The 25-year-old raised more than $1.2 million during his campaign and beat Republican Calvin Wimbish by some 30,000 votes. Some ways to improve your credit score may include making on-time credit-card payments and reducing your debt obligations. On several occasions, Frost said he drove for Uber UBER, +0.19% during his campaign to pay his bills.

This guy should support better security in public schools!

If he can’t manage his own money ,how can he manage ours?

Yep. I denied a tenant over bad credit too. Kinda how it works

Welcome to the real world!

How can he manage the taxpayers money if he can’t manage his own finances?

Bad credit is bad credit… pay your bills

Too bad. Pay your bills on time.

And these so called politicians want to manage your money

And!!!!!

You are not on-the-ball !

Sounds like life. Go near Howard and catch a deal.

Congress is a perfect place for someone who has no clue about unresponsible spending.

Seems reasonable

Pay your bills on time. Your not entitled.

Get good credit, and it won't be a problem.

One thing I loved about Turkiye was there wasn’t a sense of credit you can just get a place if you have the money, resident permit, and income they didn’t even ask for banking statements.

Work on it

Bad credit, and he gets elected to public office? More proof that the USA is going to hell in a hand-basket.

Shit happens

That’s the real life works

Omg this is so bad a national publication should write a story about it!

Why does he have bad credit? Skipped out on debt? Late payments? Evictions? Welcome to the world of consequences. Or as Socialists call it, living hell. 🤣

As he should be if that’s their standard. I’m sure others were denied for same reason. Happens a lot … what a joke!

'Nothing will change the shape of things to come.' Anyone get it?

Why is this news?

I bet he wishes he had paid his bills. Hindsight. Maybe AOC will rent him a room?

Pay your bills?

Getting off welfare sucks.

Credit has nothing to do with paying your bills it's people with perfect credit that don't pay all their bills

So

😂😂😂😂

Yup welcome to every day people problems

Many of y’all clearly didn’t read the article & don’t know about credit. You can have bad credit by having a large amount of debt even if it’s paid on time. Article didn’t say he was late on bills. He racked up debt running his campaign. He clearly didn’t come from rich parents🙄

And people wonder why Congress doesn't do budgets well.

haha look at these posts...... we SUPPORT you ❤️❤️❤️

ClarkHoward you need to go and educate our younger (and older) Congress members on credit. Then again they are doing such a great job with the federal budget you might not need to /s.

Got in debt to get the job, got the job and can’t even get a place to live smh

Be responsible and don’t have bad credit, and quit representing the party that denies real estate development, making rents, go higher and higher

Young man has a lot to learn! I bet he has a Student Loan he hasn’t paid either! Wait till those people find out the FICO score has dropped! Know payments know credit! Surprise

As a landlord, due diligence is key. you dont want to be stuck with a squatter

No one gets special treatment in the world of Credit Underwriting. We see Doctors, Politicians, business owners, etc who have poor credit scores.

He should be more responsible with his earnings and pay his bills on time. Money management is a big problem in the states. How can someone run a state or country but can’t manage their personal finances.

Wasn’t Cawthorn gen z?

Bad credit bc he’s basically a child. Hope he has a guarantor!
