Upcoming benefit allowance increases will apply to those in Northern Ireland in receipt of certain payments, it has been confirmed.
The increase will apply to inflation-linked benefits and tax credits, and will rise by 10.1% from April 2023. It's in line with the Consumer Prices Index rate of inflation in September 2022. Basic and new State Pensions will be uprated in line with CPI inflation in 2023/24, "following the restoration of the pensions ‘triple lock’ which had been suspended in 2022/23".In 2023/24 Universal Credit standard allowances will increase as follows:
