Well done, Independent, only a couple of years late to the story.

I'll be happy when the people who are responsible die in horrible pain whilst being laughed at.

So basically, they will get 10000 claimants, throw them into poverty as some kind of sick test to see how it affects people? They already know how badly it affects people. Honestly, how do these people sleep at night? 😠

We need to decrease the population somehow. Starvation and destitution is one way I suppose.

catoverton_99 Fears? It’s already happened and it already is doing so...as well as pushing them into suicide

Oh look they have finally woken up

. No Shit Sherlock!!!I Daniel Blake!

So they have finally seen what everyone else has said for ages or have they finally got round to watching IDanielBlake torypoverty

Who would have thought...

I am absolutely speechless....what have people been telling them for months.

Addendum: for fears please read as facts (per government’s own report McVey ignored and then misled parliament about.)

Get rid of sanctions and offer a golden hello of two to four weeks’ bonus transitional funding and this could have worked a treat. They’ve wrecked its chances through mean-mindedness, though.

It’s an absolute disgrace that people are made to wait 5 weeks to receive a penny! They do have the option to ask for ‘pre-payment’ but that is limited to around £300 max - the system doesn’t work. Simple

Not delayed completely if those poor 10,000 still get transferred

No. I has been delayed over fears that the public has begun to notice.

'Catastrophic' Universal Credit roll-out to 3,000,000 people delayedThe Labour party has said the switch to Universal Credit has been a 'catastrophe' for the poor and vulnerable. I wonder if she'll scrap the benefit because it really isn't doing anyone any good. That's the most decent thing she could do. Admit defeat and form another new welfare system because this new one clearly isn't working...
