Finance Minister Enoch Godongwana included, amongst others, an allocation of R1.1 billion to national carrier SAA to help it deal with historical debt during his budget speech.

CAPE TOWN - State-owned entities remain a big headache for National Treasury and a major stumbling block in the country’s economic recovery.SOEs like Eskom, Denel, South African Airways and Transnet have ballooned contingent liabilities from R84 billion to well over R400 billion in the past 15 years.

That’s in spite of earlier assurances of no future bailouts ahead of a proposed sale of a portion of the carrier.

Again?! How much longer must we waste the money which could be put to much better use trying to revive dead donkeys like SAA? Haai, lokhu kuyisiwula nje.

What a joke.... 😡😡😡

The comrades must eat a little!!

Those companies collapsed on themselves years ago because of mismanagement and looting of funds, yet billions are allocated! It's becoming quite obvious this is where the chief whips get their tuck shop money from! 🤬💩 It won't be long now until this country resembles Zimbabwe

It’s a bottomless pit of corruption.

More money wasted while we suffer crippling black outs and lowest productivity because of those in nearly 30 years.

Sata have lot of money neh

Isn't SAA private now👀 Is the private sector failing 🤔...

Let’s be honest- we are bailing out the ANC- since that is where the money is going.

Tsek

Sickening. SAPO is a dead donkey! No use flogging it. It has a bad stench of decay oaround it. Why throw hard earned tax payers money at it?

Bailing out corruption. Same as the Gupta machine.

How else will comrades redistribute the hard earned money of the taxpayer to themselves?

SAA

More money wasted on a dead horse. But the CyrilRamaphosa loves a vanity project.

These bailouts are only used to pay salaries and bonuses to useless staff. No infrastructure nor services to customers are improved upon. Disgraceful business ethics in SA.

These are really just Syphons into certain bank accounts. That are given the names are given because the bank account holders think South African Public are that dumb. Weak attempt at smoke and mirrors

SAA was sold for R51 mos. So billions are channeled to the remaining 50%?🤔

Really post office😂, even government departments don’t use that anymore. We are doomed

Why is SAA also getting a bailout when they have an invester? Kgante what is Takatso Consortium who owns a 51%share there for?

Why the hell. Billions that could be fixing the power issues are being wasted on a cash cow like SAA... 🤧

These are not bail outs they are the criminal AN. cartel replenishing the coffers they have plundered so fat they can plunder more. We need to get rid of these rent seeking hyenas. All of them.

Again. The tax payer saves an insolvent SAA but it was claimed it was sold to a private consortium. Suddenly no longer insolvent. We keep feeding the useless criminals and they keep stealing us dry via taxes.

and book a stay HouseHurlingham, chow the money. Follow!

And nobody is held accountable for their destruction 🤔

Deja vu....Was the last bailout not subject to 'strict conditions'? I suspect the next bailout wil also have those 'strict conditions'...and the next...and the next. This sh!t will never end....

Private sector companies has to battle against all Government inflicted problems to operate and yet we all have to fund hugely incompetent, thieving corporations only propped up by taxpayers bailouts.

There does the tax payers money

Liewe fok... the black holes of cash...

I thought they sold SAA?

Bailout after bailout. Money that could be used to uplift the poor and go towards improving essential services.

More theft from the ANC a$$es

🤬🤬🤬
