During the pandemic, this woman built a house in her yard and moved in so she could rent out the main home.

All of this is covered by the $2,725 I make from renting out the main house, which means I'm able to live in my tiny home for free.To give the place a light and airy feel, I painted the walls a coastal blue shade and added some rustic touches like a wooden ladder leading to the loft's queen-sized mattress.Nestled under the sleeping loft is a small desk, which she uses to check emails and catch up on work.

The bathroom features a shelf for extra storage and a glass shower door, which makes the room feel bigger. I don't have friends over very often, but once the weather gets warmer, I plan to use the fire pit as a hosting area. I believe that tiny homes will play an important role in offsetting the global housing crisis. Last year, I gave aJeffrey Beard for CNBC Make ItIn 2021, after realizing effects of vacation rentals on the real estate market in Atlanta, I stopped listing my properties for short-term rental on sites like Airbnb. Renting out more and more space for vacations means less space for folks who need long-term homes.

There are homeless people all around San Diego who are suffering and need help and you chose to post a story about a woman in Georgia who owns two homes? Why? Totally tone deaf and not even local news.

Try doing that in Cali…..not happening.

space is luxury

CNBC It's a shed...

Tiny homes are not allowed as a primary residence in most areas because of zoning regulations. TinyHouseWarriors WCVB WGME

CNBC No sure what she is actually saving.

CNBC You can build a small home for the same cost and not have to use a shed superstructure (which has the added advantage of not looking like a place that you store tools from the outside). But I like this girl, she's a saver

CNBC No

she's gone actually; sir-mam myself a black guy not alive me a black guy;

Sewer (or this area septage), water hookup, apparently buried electric, these alone would probably eat up the $35K

But she had a backyard to begin with?

OJPhilly Very interesting.

In ‘21 my son developed cancer & moved back home. We too have a huge backyard & thought a tiny house was a perfect option. I called my twp & was shot down immediately. They said my property was only zoned for 1 house & U just can’t put another house on ur property. Glo cntyNJ
