The Australian Veterinary Association is calling for the government to drop university HECS debts in rural Australia for veterinary graduates.

The call is for the government to do more to encourage graduates to move to rural

regions and could work alongside programs waving fees for doctors, nurses and teachers.

We need more male vets.

Problem with that is if that happens, then all graduates who are not veterinary will feel hard done by if their HECS debts are not dropped also..

There is nothing stopping the Veterinary Association picking up the HECS tab.

Why? We already have too many vets.
