“The safeguard mechanism is a really important piece of legislation, we do need to reduce emissions as quickly as possible and this is a tool that will help us do it,” Mr Davies told Sky News Australia.
“It’s great the deal has been done to get it in place – the processes to get new carbon credit units developed and used is really good, the provisions for manufacturers are also really promising.”
