55% of 801 registered Utah voters polled said they disapprove of the Biden administration's plan for partial loan forgiveness.

The poll, conducted March 14-22, has a margin of error of 3.46 percentage points.

Biden's plan has had vocal critics, among them Sen. Mitt Romney, R-Utah, who said in a press release that it "makes no sense" to cancel some $400 billion in student loan debt. The primary difference is that students didn't benefit from the shifting landscape in student loan servicing that continues to saddle borrowers with debt due to high interest rates and challenges tracking loans that have been sold to other loan servicers, she said.

The student loan landscape is so complex that Reale finally gave up trying to navigate her appeals and hired, which helps borrowers refinance loans at lower interest rates and stay in compliance with the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program. One of her students told her he was unable able to attend class because he didn't have gas money to travel to campus.

STUPID poll. What about 385 or 435? No one asked me SO according to my un-scientific poll results those in favor of loan forgiveness drops to 12%

More lies from KSL lol.. where did you poll? At the U🤣🤣🤣

Who in the hell are the 42%? How about we poll who's on assistance to qualify their opinions. Surely the 42 percent will all have jobs or businesses that pay taxes and contribute to society.

'Forgiveness'. It's not a mistake, its a commitment.

It is money going to American people, I am all for it! I mean we give billions and billions to other countries all the time and that is seen as good. But as soon as we want to give money to Americans, it is seen as bad idea and those Americans are stupid and lazy.

If by student loan 'forgiveness' they mean the bank just acknowledge they don't owe that money...then sure. But if the student loan 'forgiveness' is going to have to be repaid by my tax dollars..hell no. Take your degree and pay back what you owe. We didn't get a degree. You did!

And with the stroke of a pen… POOF! Debt disappeared like magic, with no downside, whatsoever! And they lived happily ever after.

If you support this you are part of the problem

Funny when chooses to spell out 'registered Utah voters polled', instead of just 'Utahns'.

So keeping with Utah traditional he should ignore the majority🤣🤣🤣

Your choices are go to college and live in debt forever or try your luck in the working class (which is now mostly working poor people). If they can give billions of our tax dollars to corporations for stock buybacks, they can better invest in young peoples education.

Here is a solution: You borrowed the money, you pay it back.

The biggest problem is kids keep going to these institutions that are over priced. The kids need to do a cost benefit analysis and find that it isn’t worth 45k of debt to make 50k per year.

Nobody is serious about fixing this issue. The root of the problem is that the government guarantees student debt. And the biggest branch of the problem is that student debt is not dischargeable in bankruptcy.

I oppose it, except maybe as part of a higher education funding reform. The problem is fed-backed loans giving schools a blank check, and forgiveness will make that worse. It'll help people now, but harm more in the future unless we also do something to control school costs.

I currently carry quite a large student debt, which I'll never be able to pay off. $10,000 knocked off of the top would be beneficial in a few ways. I just really don't understand why this is such an issue, for people. KSL should poll ME, once in awhile...

Take a poll here

Hey , run a poll on what Utahns think about the wealthy business owners having their PPP loans forgiven. NOT A WORD from news networks when wealthy people and businesses get the socialism money cannon shot at them. If we hate socialism, we should hate it for everyone.

It’s funny how KSL will poll Utahns over the government subsidizing it’s citizens, but never runs a poll on how people feel about corporate subsidies. Tax payers pay billions in no-strings-attached “R&D” subsidies to billion dollar companies. LETS POLL THAT!

We can’t complain about people not having kids and getting married if we accept adults lives being anchored by life long student debt.

Good I love Utah

No !!! They signed for it they are responsible to pay !!!! Do the rest of America get loan forgiveness on our cars or houses ....no!!!! So they should not be treated any different

The other 45% didn’t vote

They didn't poll me and I fully approve of it. I'd rather give $ to students than the ultra-wealthy, which is what government normally does.

I wonder how those same voters would feel about Biden subsidizing farmers with their tax money?

I've been against student loan cancelation but I'd rather that then anymore money go to Ukraine lol

1. It's unconstitutional. 2. Make it subject to bankruptcy so people can free themselves that way.

No such thing as loan forgiveness. It’s simply transferred to someone else, in this case taxpayers. Pay your loans or don’t take one out.

Now do PPP loans. Socialist Utah companies received over 7 Billion in 'loans'.

The only real solution is to immediately end the practice of taxpayer-guaranteed student debt, then make said debt dischargeable in bankruptcy.

We are last in the nation for funding education per pupil. Utah doesn’t like education.

With the exception of the past decade, you would have been laughed out of the room if you suggested that taxpayers should pay off the loans of people who willingly signed them. With the exception of the past decade, you would have been laughed out of the room if you suggested…

The only change that needs to happen is to allow student loans to be included in bankruptcy just as any other debt. The borrower suffers yet eventually gets relief. Just like other choices that individuals have been allowed to escape for years

Only 55%!? What is wrong with people? Should be 100% disapprove
