There are many who are trying to help those effected by the shut down.however all the effects are not that visible. Both sides of the aisle should do what they an to end this nonsense but not by doing anything foolish or just as harmful. Both sides have to work together

While some places have been fantastic, especially restaurants CarminesNYC chefjoseandres andpizza pizzapaisanos other places haven't done anything.

Local government can do a great deal to protect their citizens from the federal squabble. MayorOfLA, LADWP, LACitySAN are offering payment plans for federal workers. Not a fix-all, but a great show of a government that cares about its people.
