The U.S. Treasury said Monday that Volkswagen, BMW, Nissan, Rivian, Hyundai and Volvo electric vehicles will lose access to a $7,500 tax credit under new battery sourcing rules.

Motor and Chrysler-parent Stellantis said most of their electric and PHEV models would see tax credits halved to $3,750 on April 18. Treasury confirmed the automakers' calculations.billion Inflation Reduction Act .

The law required vehicles to be assembled in North America to qualify for any tax credits, which in August eliminated nearly 70% of eligible models and on Jan. 1 new price caps and limits on buyers income took effect.

Equinox and Blazer should also lose the credit, they both can be produced in the US but made in Mexico

I guess Ford, GM, Tesla, and the other no name manufacturers are the only ones that are left.

So BMW i4 is still available for the full 7500 right?

So even the closest allies can't get a slice of your pie? 😂😂 And I'll never know why. 🙄 elonmusk So, the questions of cost and quality of batteries made else where come into the equation, If additional cost of a domestic battery exceed the credit than it better not to have the credit. Also the quality, (much harder to rate) cost/mile.
