The university said total salary savings throughout the strike amounted to $3,430,840, encompassing $2,553,294 in the university's budget and $877,546 in the Atlantic Veterinary College 's budget. Additionally, AVC compensated faculty members on strike with emergency fees for urgent cases, with the overall cost, including pension contributions, reaching $253,146.
UPEI said it has organized the disbursement of funds to be as impartial and equitable as possible, considering full or part-time student status and whether students pay domestic or international tuition fees.
