In a statement on Tuesday Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Farouk Eshak said numerous reports had been lodged previously following threats from loan sharks.
At least five police reports had been lodged, including one on May 22, where a civil servant stated that several cars, including his were damaged at Jalan AU4/1. "Also found was a letter claiming that debts had to be paid. Four more reports were also made by the owners of the cars which were for injuries from threats and for broken car mirrors.The threats were believed to have stemmed from a resident in the area that had borrowed money from a loan shark.A 45-year-old delivery rider had previously filed a report on April 11 stating that he had borrowed RM500 from loan sharks in January.
"The suspect was found to have a record for criminal and drug related offences. He was remanded until May 31.follow-up investigations are underway to trace other suspects," he said.
