Despite him being owned by their rivals, Charlton fans grew a serious affection for Rak-Sakyi this season. The revelation of him driving a Nissan Micra, despite being a professional footballer, boosted that level of admiration even further.
And Holden says that just like Charlton fans, he's thoroughly enjoyed watching Rak-Sakyi thrive in front of his eyes in the five months he managed him, too.“[He] definitely [grew]. I can only comment on what I’ve seen since I arrived, but we work hard with the players off the pitch to get them out their comfort zone essentially," Holden continued.
“The hits he took, he’s tough. He’s very slight but he’ll grow into his body and he’s got huge potential. I worked with a lot of players at Bristol City and Stoke that went on to play in the Premier League and he’s right up there.” When asked if the Addicks will look to replace Rak-Sakyi's goal contributions from within the club or by dipping into the market, Holden said: "I think a bit of both. I think it’ll be difficult to replace not only his goals but his assists. That’s going to be difficult to replace in one signing.
