A Scots designer has come full circle after making a special accessory for the King a decade after he gave her a £4,000 loan to kickstart her career. Siobhan Mackenzie was given the chance to design a silk scarf for King Charles for his recent trip to Scotland as part of a commission.
The print is the Prince Charles Edward Stuart Tartan - the muted red and green tones are brought together with a stylistic crimson red trim adorned with thistles and leaves. "I put a few options forward but in the end we went for thistles to represent Scotland and leaves for his love of nature," Siobhan added. "It's a one-off which makes it special as well."
"That £4,000 really got me started. It helped pay for a website, labels and more. I also got onto workshops in book-keeping through the trust which have been so helpful. It's nice to show the King how his charity foundation has helped someone like me, and been a success."
